Hideout to Further Discuss Richardson Flat Annexation at Thursday Meeting

Hideout Utah

The Hideout Town Council will be meeting again on Thursday to further discuss the future of a possible annexation of land into Summit County as well as a few other items on their agenda.

Thursday's meeting in Hideout is not a special session of the town council like the previous several meetings have been. The last regular council meeting in Hideout was on August 13th.

Although the Richardson Flat annexation is an item up for discussion on Thursday, several other issues are on the agenda.

The council will be approving bills the town must pay as well as appointing a Mayor Pro Tempore to fill in for current mayor, Phil Rubin, for the dates of September 17th-October 4th and October 17th-November 1st.

The council will also be discussing and potentially entering into a memorandum of mutual intent with Mustang Development. Mustang Development is the developer that built the town of Hideout in the mid 2000s.

The big items on Thursday’s agenda, however, are further discussion and possible action on a new resolution of intent to annex into Richardson Flat East of Park City. There will also be discussion and possible action on authorizing the mayor to enter into a new pre-annexation agreement with developer Nate Brockbank, who hopes to build in Richardson Flat.

A court ruling earlier this month barred Hideout from continuing their annexation efforts under their original pre-annexation agreement with Brockbank, which was originally made in July. A new agreement is required if the town hopes to move forward.

The council will also be taking input from members of the public.

Thursday’s meeting will be held virtually over Zoom and begins at 6pm. A link to the agenda and Zoom meeting details can be found here.
