Where Are All of The Utah Butterfly's Going? DNR's Pollinator Pursuit Program Gives Us A Glimps

Monarch Butterfly's

On this episode of This Green Earth, Amanda Barth with the Utah Department of Natural Resources talks about "Utah Pollinator Pursuit" a program that allows citizens to monitor, track and upload data on the Monarch's habitat, populations and where abouts. The monarch butterfly is an iconic species in North America and its annual migration cycle is one of the most remarkable in the world. However, over the past 20 years, the butterflies population has declined by more than 80 percent throughout much of its range in the western U.S.

Chris is the co-host of “This Green Earth”, a weekly radio show covering environmental news and issues. Broadcast on KPCW, the NPR affiliate for Park City. He also sits on the boards of Recycle Utah and Summit Community Power Works.
