Local News Hour - October 8, 2018

Judy Collins is performing at the Egyptian Theater Thurday through SAturday. She talks about her long career and the work she continues to do for activist issues. Her song writing and performances have not slowed with more than 100 shows a year. Utah National Guard Brigadier General Tom Fisher explains how the Governor called for a civic action which deployed 200 soldiers to assist in preparation for extreme rain and potential flooding events throughout the state. Park City Education Foundation, Abby McNulty  has a run down on October- Dyslexia Awareness Month and the One Book/One Community event happening next week. The Newcomers Club Co-Vice Presidents, Carol Levine and Sue DiMartini, have a volunteer fair coming up for those who want to learn more about opportunities for service throughout the community.

KPCW reporter Carolyn Murray covers Summit and Wasatch County School Districts. She also reports on wildlife and environmental stories, along with breaking news. Carolyn has been in town since the mid ‘80s and raised two daughters in Park City.
