Arches National Park will reopen its infamous Fiery Furnace hikes next week.

The area, which requires a permit, involves maze-like terrain through slot canyons.

Earlier this year the area closed because of staffing shortages.

Arches says it will start issuing self-guided permits again for the Fiery Furnace area April 15.

Daily ranger-guided tours will begin again May 4.

Reservations are required to visit the park just outside Moab.
