Kimball Art's exhibit "Under Construction" will be open from March 8-May 26 from 10:00-5:00 pm. The exhibit brings together the work of two renowned built landscape photographers. Lewis Baltz (1945-2014), captured Park City's rapid growth in the late 1970s as his images of Prospector Park describe its dramatic transformation from a former mining town into a thriving ski resort. Artist Rodrigo Valenzuela in his series American-Type, responds today to Baltz's work. For more information, go to kimballartcenter.org
Join the Park City Library staff for this musical hour that includes reading, dancing, and musical instruments to help develop early literacy skills. Park City Museum will host a lecture called "Edward Ferry , Park City’s Capitalist" given by Sandy Brumley and Michael O’Malley on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 5-6 p.m. held at the Park City Museum Education and Collections Center located at 2079 Sidewinder Drive. Arriving with wealth, Edward Ferry soon amassed a fortune in ways not always met with peaceful disagreement. Hear the fascinating story of his life in Park City and how one case made its way to the US Supreme Court. More information can be found at www.parkcityhistory.org.
Park City Library hosts Bilingual Family Storytime-Wednesday May 22 at 6:00 pm. Perfect for those beginning their Spanish learning journey, this interactive, early literacy program will help by building language skills in both English and Spanish through stories and songs. Ages 3-6. Younger siblings are welcome.
La biblioteca de Park City presenta cuentos bilingües en familia- Perfecto para quienes estén comenzando su viaje de aprendizaje del español o del inglés, este programa interactivo facilita la alfabetización temprana en ambos idiomas y fomenta el desarrollo de las habilidades lingüísticas a través de cuentos y canciones. Este programa se ofrece mensualmente, con un programa nocturno los miércoles y una repetición de este el siguiente sábado por la mañana. Edad 3-6 años. Hermanitas menores son bienvenidas.
As part of the PC Library's financial literacy series, they are offering a seminar on "How to Budget as a Family" on May 22, 2024 from 6-7:00. Topics covered will include setting money goals as a family; how to help kids learn about money; and ways to get the whole family motivated to use budgeting. Free registration is required. If fewer than 10 people register, this class will be held virtually.
The program begins with a panel discussion by twelve service providers followed by break out sessions on specific subjects where the audience can ask detailed questions.
