Basin is excited to offer private mountain bike lessons for adults and kids ages 6 and up all summer long. Instructors will tailor lessons to individual skills, ability levels, and goals to improve confidence and technique.

Join Summit Community Garden in the Garden as their new Garden Manager, Jess shares best practices on how to prepare garden plots, whether at Summit Community Garden or at your home. You'll learn about soil amendments like compost and other organic materials that can enhance soil fertility. Jess will show you some broadfork techniques to loosen soil and prepare it for planting, which is especially important for our rocky soil. She’ll discuss which crops can be directly sown into the ground, which crops should be started indoors and then transplanted, and which ones to wait on. She’ll also cover best watering techniques for our dry climate, best companion planting, and spacing for various crops.

The Summit County Health Department is offering a free six-week support group to help individuals quit tobacco. Whether they are ready to stop using tobacco or just thinking about it, participants in this program can get the support and knowledge they need. The six-week group will be hosted at the Summit County Health Department at 650 Round Valley Drive in Park City in the downstairs conference room on Wednesdays from 5-6pm beginning April 23.

Brush up on your technique and confidence heading into the summer season with Basin Recreation's adult mountain bike clinics. Taught by certified PMBIA instructors, beginner riders will learn how to better corner around switchbacks, descend safely, ride over obstacles, and learn basic bike maintenance.
Intermediate riders will review the fundamental skills of mountain biking and improve cornering around switchbacks, descend safely on steeper terrain, ride over obstacles and be introduced to drops and jumps.
Basin Recreation adult mountain bike clinics are held from 9am-12pm at the Trailside Bike Park.

Basin Recreation's Masters swimming program provides a structured swim workout focusing on building endurance, developing overall fitness, and improving stroke technique within a supportive group environment.
Masters swimming, for intermediate and advanced level swimmers, runs monthly through October on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1pm at The Fieldhouse pool.

Basin Recreation is excited to host two women's specific mountain bike clinics this spring, one for beginner riders and another for intermediate riders. The focus is on improving skills, building confidence, and meeting like-minded riders.
Clinics will be held May 17 and May 31 from 9am-12pm at the Trailside Bike Park and cost $150 per clinic.
