Earth Quaked In South Summit Area Monday

A minor earthquake was recorded Friday morning in the  South  Summit area.  But there was no damage to nearby communities, and no reports that the quake was felt.

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded just after 10 o'clock Friday morning by the University of Utah seismograph station. It was located about nine miles deep. The epicenter was three mile southwest of Woodland. There were no reports of the quake being felt in Kamas, Francis and Samak - all within six miles of the epicenter. Summit County officials say these little earthquakes are good reminders that we live in  earthquake country, and to be prepared.

You can find out more during the upcoming 2014 Great Utah Shakeout on April 17, and get more information at shakeout.org/Utah.

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was reported in Los Angeles Monday morning.
