Man Killed In Single-Car Accident On Hwy 40

Utah Highway Patrol

A Salt Lake City man has died after crashing on State Route 40 near the Wasatch/Duchesne county line.

42-year-old Justin Wardle of Salt Lake City was driving eastbound Sunday morning on State Route 40 near Current Creek when he went off the road in a single-car collision that resulted in his death.

Utah Highway Patrol believes that fatigue caused Wardle to drift across westbound lanes striking some curbing that caused his truck to flip.

The truck hit a large rock which caused the fatality to the driver who was wearing his seatbelt. A passing traveler noticed the overturned truck and called 9-1-1 when first responders arrived they found Wardle had passed away.
