USC Comes To Old Town On Friday For Their Biennial Event
The Trojans are coming to Utah for a conference match against the Utes but not before they biennial parade in Old Town. However, this year, it’s not so much a parade as it is a rally. Melissa Allison explains:
The University of Southern California comes to Old Town every two years before their big game.
Due to concerns regarding public safety along with the changes to the city’s code for special events – Special Events Manager Jenny Diersen said they have moved their event off of Main St.
“We did work with the applicant to move the event off of Main St. And so, the event is being held actually at Town Lift Plaza,” Diersen said. “I think we’ve started up in City Hall receiving a lot of phone calls and just to inform everyone here, there is not, currently at this moment, technically a parade but there will be a public activity up at Town Lift Plaza.”
That means there won’t be any rolling road closures for the event.
Diersen said USC’s marching band will be at the event which is scheduled for this Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
