A man was arrested in Park City after trying to meet with a person he thought was a minor for sex.
26-year-old Noriko Cubian has been charged with enticing a minor by internet or text. Cubian was arrested after a 35-year-old woman posing as a 13-year-old boy alerted police that Cubian was attempting to meet up with the supposed 13-year-old for sex. The woman told police said she was associated with a group known as Creep Catchers.
According to the probable cause statement Cubian arranged a meeting with the supposed 13-year-old at 900 Park Avenue near the trolley turnaround. When Cubian arrived for the meeting around 11:15 pm on June 24th he was arrested by police.
Cubian is a Philippine citizen, in the US on a work visa. When questioned by police Cubian admitted to wanting a sexual relationship with the boy, but only if consensual. Cubian also was aware that a 13-year-old could not legally consent to a sexual act.
Cubian was booked into Summit County Jail. His bail was set at $50,000; he has an appearance scheduled in Third District Court next week.
