Two Leaders, Two Nearly Tied For Last Place In Unofficial Park City Council Primary Results

The preliminary results for the Park City Council primary election are in.

As of Tuesday at 8 p.m., incumbent Park City Councilmember Nann Worel leads the field of seven candidates with 948 votes, receiving nearly 28% of votes cast. Current City Councilmember Becca Gerber lands close behind Worel, with 903 votes, or 26% of the vote.

Daniel Lewis comes in at the bottom with 165 votes, equal to 4.8% of votes cast, while Chadwick Fairbanks III tops Lewis by two votes, at 167 votes—4.86% of the vote total.

In the middle, Max Doilney has 517 votes; Ed Parigian has 383; and Deanna Rhodes has 355.

Of the 5,873 ballots that went out to registered Park City voters, only 1,443 have been received, totaling nearly 25% voter turnout. There’s still the potential for more ballots to trickle in through the mail. The official election results will be released Aug. 27 at 6 p.m.

Three Park City Council seats are open for election—Worel’s, Gerber’s and one being vacated by Councilmember Lynn Ware Peek. The final primary election results will remove one of the seven candidates from the running, sending six to the Nov. 5 general election.
