Wasatch County Council meets Wednesday evening to discuss a new residential project, and the transit study currently being conducted in the county.
Wasatch County Council members first meet at 3:00 pm. The council will discuss the interlocal agreement between the county, Midway, Heber and Park City as well as UDOT, UTA and MAG about a transit demand analysis study for the county, depending on how the study goes there could be some sort of bus system coming to Wasatch County.
Shawn Seager, Planning Director with MAG, recently presented at the August 8th Interlocal meeting with Wasatch County, Midway and Heber City elected officials present. Seager said the study is moving forward.
"Hired a consultant recently," Seager reported. "We’re in the process of negotiations with the consultant called LSC. They’re a national firm they’ve hire local firm Fehr and Peers to assist them on the County transit study. The idea is to try to look at where the transit market might be for Wasatch County. Are people trying to get to Utah County? Are they trying to get into Park City? Are they trying to get around Wasatch County itself?”
At 6:00 pm the County will hold a public hearing for a request for preliminary plat and site plan approval for Wasatch Commons. The project would create 286 single family homes and 62 townhomes on 114 acres. The project would exist east of the existing Wasatch Commons Apartment complex located around 3600 North Highway 40.
