A Park City man has been charged for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl while she was skiing in town last month.
The Summit County Attorney’s Office last week charged 40-year-old Marcelo Pablo Jose Portomene with one count of Child Abuse, a second-degree felony.
According to a Park City Police report in the charging documents, the incident occurred on November 27th, the day before Thanksgiving.
The report says a 17-year-old girl was skiing down a slope, then stopped to wait for friends.
At that point, she was approached by Portomene, who began yelling at her. He grabbed the victim’s neck, began squeezing, and shoved her to the ground while continuing to yell. The defendant had to be pulled off by a third party.
The charges don’t disclose if there was any connection between the individuals or a motivation for the assault.
Portomene is identified as a resident in the Thaynes Canyon area. A warrant was issued for his arrest Dec. 6th, with bail set at $10,000.
