Summit County Emergency Operations Center Assessing Earthquake Situation

10:20 AM - During Summit County's response to this morning's earthquake, the first priority for our Emergency Operations Center is to respond to citizen 911 calls. County Manager Tom Fisher reports the majority of calls that have come in this morning are reports that an earthquake was felt. Please only call 911 if you are in need of emergency assistance: personal injury or property damage requiring an immediate response of first responders. The non-emergency number is 435-615-3601.

The County's next priority is looking at critical infrastructure. The County has surveyed cities in Summit County through mayors or city managers. At this time it does not look like cities are suffering damage to critical infrastructure. Summit County is also assessing infrastructure and all looks good. Special Service Districts in the County are reporting the same.

9:20 AM - Summit County Manager Tom Fisher will be on air at 9:30 to take questions and address County response. Tune in to 91.7 in Park City area, 91.7 or 91.9 in South Summit and 88.1 in North Summit.

7:37 AM -The County Emergency Operations Center, which was already set up for the COVID-19 pandemic, is aware of the 5.7 earthquake that occurred this morning. Right now they are working to learn more about the situation and assess our next steps.
