Utah reported another 1,575 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.
Summit County reported 23 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total to 1,403 since the start of the pandemic. Last week the county had its highest daily case count since March when the health department reported 29 new cases in one day.
Wasatch County saw 20 new cases, they’ve had 1,144 cases since March. Earlier this week the county reported 25 new cases in one day, which is the most daily cases seen in Wasatch.
The state announced another ten deaths — bringing the total to 588 since the start of the pandemic. There were no new deaths reported in Summit or Wasatch counties. Summit has had one COVID-19 related death and Wasatch County has reported 9.
Summit County’s average percent of positive test results in the last week is 11.9% and Wasatch County’s is 12.7%. Both counties have lower positive percentages than the state’s average, which is 17.9%.
There are currently 299 people in the hospital. And 70.4% of all ICU beds are in use.
Utah’s rolling 7-day average for new cases is 1,549.
