Park City Announces Changes to City Services After Governor’s Executive Order

Park City Municipal

Park City Municipal announced a number of changes to city services on Tuesday after Governor Gary Herbert’s executive order regarding the statewide response to COVID-19.

The changes announced by city hall are in response to Governor Herbert’s November 8th executive order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Herbert declared a new state of emergency in Utah during a Sunday night broadcast in response to rising COVID-19 cases and an increasing shortage of statewide hospital beds.

The order institutes a statewide mask mandate and limits social gatherings to between members of the same household until November 23rd, along with other restrictions. Summit County has had a mandatory mask policy in place since June and county council has extended the order through the end of 2020.

Changes to city services in Park City will be in place through November 29th. Changes include City Hall, Public Works, and the Police Department remaining open for essential business only. Residents are encouraged to conduct their business with the city over the phone or via email if possible.

The Park City Library is now offering digital services and curbside pickup only, the PC MARC has cancelled all group activities, and the ice arena will only be offering limited programming like public skates and hockey lessons. Masks are required at the ice arena.

Park City Transit has been operating with reduced routes and frequency since the start of the pandemic in March. These routes will continue but changes will be announced by the city if they become necessary.
