Utah’s Department of Health reported just over 2,560 new COVID-19 cases Sunday.
Summit County saw 41 new cases, and last Sunday - for comparison - Summit reported 10 new infections. The county's department of health reported 50 new cases on Friday, the highest single day total of new infections.

And in Wasatch County, the health department reported 41 new cases, last Sunday the county saw 17. Wasatch County also reported its highest case count on Wednesday, with 73 new infections.

Summit County’s seven-day average of positive laboratory tests is currently around 18%, and about 31% of tests are coming back positive in Wasatch County. The percent for positive test results in the state is almost 27%, which is up from Saturday’s average of 25.5%.
Utah’s Department of Health reported 57 new hospitalizations Sunday. There are 595 people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. Nearly 89% of all ICU beds are currently in use.
The state reported no new deaths for the first time in a little over a month. There have been 939 COVID-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic in Utah. Summit County has seen five COVID-19 deaths and Wasatch County has reported 13.
26 counties in the state — including Summit and Wasatch — are in the high risk level of Utah’s COVID-19 transmission index. There have been alterations to the original guidelines; now masks are mandated throughout the state, and limits on social gathers are suggested not required.
