Utah saw more than 1,700 new cases Monday, after the holiday weekend.
Summit County saw 30 new cases, and in comparison to last Monday Summit reported 24 new cases.
Wasatch County reported 31 new cases. Last Monday the county saw 29.
Utah’s Department of Health reported five new deaths Monday. To date, 1,219 Utahns have died of the disease, including five from Summit County and 15 from Wasatch County.
The state saw an increase of 4,976 tests administered. The statewide 7-day rolling average for positive tests is over 24% which is just over Sunday’s average.
Summit County’s seven-day average of positive laboratory tests is around 17%, and nearly 24% of tests are coming back positive on average in Wasatch County.
Utah’s Department of Health reported 59 new hospitalizations. There are 498people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. Statewide, about 83% of referral center ICU beds are in use, which is down from Sunday.
Just over 550 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 since Sunday, bringing the total number to over 17,500 first doses administered. The state has received more than 98,000 doses of vaccines.
