Midway City Council to Approve City Appointees, Consider Ranked-Choice Voting

Midway City

The Midway City Council meets virtually at 5 p.m. this Tuesday, April 6,and kicking off the meeting are the approvals of nearly a dozen appointees to various city commissions and committees.

Then, the council has packed agenda covering decisions on land annexations, ranked-choice voting and city events.

The council will consider land annexations to include the 24-acre Midway Crest and the 355-acre Lower River annexation at 225 East 850 South.

The council will conduct a public hearing and potentially approve the Dutch Canyon Subdivision Plat A at 600 East Saddle Drive.

A public hearing on vacating the plat map for Saddle Creek Ranch at 970 South, 250 West will be held, and the Council may take a vote.

They'll discuss and possibly agree to sponsor the Wasatch All Road Bike Race, which would offer two routes, local food, entertainment, and a $10,000 purse split evenly between the male and female open categories. The gravel bicycling event is set for Aug. 28.

The council will consider and may adopt ranked-choice voting for the 2021 Midway City municipal election.

Berg Engineering has 30-minutes scheduled for the Farm Meadows project. The council may adopt the development agreement for the subdivision located at 550 North Pine Canyon Road.
