Silver Alert Issued

**UPDATE: The Sheriff's Office says Mr. Hoffman has been found in good health.**

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has issued a state-wide Silver Alert for a senior who has gone missing in the Basin.

Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright said they have been notified that a 79-year-old man, Richard Hoffman, is missing from the Canyons Village area.

Hoffman and his wife visit the area a couple of times a year.  He suffers from Alzheimer’s and is considered an endangered person.   He was last seen wearing a t-shirt saying “Beer” with an image that looks like the front end of a jeep.

His wife estimates that he’s been missing since about 2 p.m.  The county has activated its Search and Rescue personnel, a mounted patrol and a drone team, and in addition have several deputies in the area and around Kimball Junction.    They have also notified local transit.

If you think you have seen Mr. Hoffman, please call 911 immediately
