**UPDATE: The Sheriff's Office says Mr. Hoffman has been found in good health.**
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has issued a state-wide Silver Alert for a senior who has gone missing in the Basin.
Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright said they have been notified that a 79-year-old man, Richard Hoffman, is missing from the Canyons Village area.
Hoffman and his wife visit the area a couple of times a year. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and is considered an endangered person. He was last seen wearing a t-shirt saying “Beer” with an image that looks like the front end of a jeep.
His wife estimates that he’s been missing since about 2 p.m. The county has activated its Search and Rescue personnel, a mounted patrol and a drone team, and in addition have several deputies in the area and around Kimball Junction. They have also notified local transit.
