Mountain Money - March 22, 2021

Kiln.jpg

Last week Mountain Money focused on one element of the proposed minimum wage legislation, the elimination of the tipped minimum wage. (1:33) This morning, Michael Strain, Director of Economic Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute joined Mountain Money to discuss how a $15 minimum wage may harm workers.

(27:10) Susan Madsen, Professor of Leadership at Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University spends time with us this  morning to talk about COVID-19’s impact to women in the workforce and how the impacts to women in Utah compare to those nationally.

(43:35) Kiln provides beautiful and thoughtfully designed flex-office spaces in the country, and is opening its fifth location in Park City, Utah, on April 1 in the Newpark Town Center. Leigh Redford and Arian Lewis, founders of the Utah-based company, is transforming what was previously Jupiter Bowl into an all-inclusive, elevated flex-office space community.

Roger is a retired partner in the international law firm of Latham & Watkins. He is the co-founder and Chairman of Buildable Hours, a non-profit group that organizes law firms to build homes with Habitat for Humanity in several cities around the country. He and his wife Rana Tahtinen enjoy skiing and many of the other recreational activities offered by Park City. He is passionate about KPCW and its important role in our community.
