Leadership Park City Class 26 Application Open

Park City Leadership

The Leadership application process is done online through the City’s website. Anywhere from 75 to 120 people apply for the class, with 30 applicants accepted each year. Participants receive a scholarship to cover the cost of the program, with the exception of City Tour, which costs around $800 per person.

Leadership founder and director Myles Rademan says applicants should have a desire to participate in Park City and the ability to show up to every class session, which is why those interested in applying should check out the 2019-2020 schedule beforehand. Rademan says the participant’s investment in the program is their time and attention.

"It’s very important that if people apply, they're going to show up," Rademan said. "This is a community-based program that’s supported by the whole community. We run it through the City, but it's the City and the County and the resorts and the Chamber/Bureau and a lot of the other organizations and nonprofits in town that support it."

Rademan says Leadership isn’t for people who are just looking to pad their resumes, and that individuals get out of it what they put in.

"We certainly hope that people get some leadership skill training that they might not have had before, and they get a deeper understanding of how this community works and what our future might be and where we've come from," Rademan said. "But also I think they get a lot of individual satisfaction out of digging in deeper here. People come here and they say, 'I want to make Park City home, I want to contribute,' and this is certainly one way to do that."

The deadline for applications is Friday, August 23 at 9 p.m., though Rademan recommends not putting it off until the last minute. Leadership Park City Class 26 runs from October 2019 to October 2020.
