The Park City History Museum has a new leader at the helm.
After a nationwide search, Morgan Pierce will begin as executive director of the Park City History Museum July 15. That’s according to a press release from the museum.
The previous director, Sandra Morrison stepped down from her role almost a year ago.
In his new position, Pierce will work with the museum’s board of trustees to finalize and execute their strategic plan while working with the community’s nonprofits.
Pierce is moving to Park City from Culpeper, VA, where he is the executive director of the town’s history museum. His previous experience includes serving as chief curator at Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses in New Orleans, LA and working as curator of collections at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA.
Paige Anderson is the chair of the Board of Trustees for the Park City History Museum. She says the board was drawn to Pierce because of his extensive experience in the history field. She adds he will create pieces with lasting success by building up audiences and community engagement.
Pierce has a B.A. in History from James Madison University and an M.A. in Arts Management from George Mason University.
He’s moving to Utah with his wife and two children and looks forward to recreating time outdoors.
