Park City Main Street Trolley Back For The Summer

Park City Municipal Government

Getting around Old Town Park City just got a little easier. The trolley is back for the summer.

The Main Street trolley service was cut last winter and wasn’t budgeted for the summer. But the city just decided to bring it back for limited hours starting July 1.

Park City transit is funded through sales tax. City Manager Matt Dias told KPCW last November the service was cut because the city was expecting significant shortfalls from sales tax revenue last winter.  However, the city announced at Tuesday's Historic Park City Alliance meeting resumed service.

Alliance Executive Director Alison Kuhlow said the community is excited to welcome back the popular and much used transportation method.

"Having this trolley on Main Street is such a huge benefit, especially when a lot of the people visiting town aren't used to the elevation and because of the street steepness," Kuhlow said.

The trolley will run 10 hours a day, four days a week from Wednesday-Saturday. With Main Street closed for Car-Free Sundays and the Silly Market, a shuttle will make trips up and down Swede Alley.
