The Park City Police Department is still seeking any information leading to those responsible for the vandalism of the “Black Lives Matter’ mural on Main Street.
A statement from police said that the case of criminal mischief occurred on Main in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 8.
The suspect or suspects used a large quantity of gray paint to blot over the mural, which was sanctioned by the city “to celebrate and showcase social equity over the July 4th weekend.”
The department says that some vague video surveillance may be showing persons of interest in the area at the time.
The mural was repainted by its original artists after the vandalism spurred significant shock in the community.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the department’s tip line at 435-615-5555 or online at parkcity.org/departments/police/contact-us.
