Pat Putt Reviews New Applications

Summit County-Pat Putt Community Development Director

Summit County’s Community Development Department has been busy the past month, receiving 20 new building applications. Development Director Pat Putt said that those run the gamut, from art to child-care.

During his regular visit to KPCW, Pat Putt said that one of the applications is from Summit County itself.    A Conditional Use Permit (or CUP) is being requested for the Public Works facility near Wanship, to expand the garage and maintenance area.

The department also received an application for a guest ranch in Brown’s Canyon.    Putt explained what’s being requested for the 50-acre parcel.

“I think the best way to describe it is an event facility.  There would be a barn-style building that would accommodate events, weddings, functions, small conferences.   They would have the associated lodging part of that with food and food service.  My understanding is there’ll also be some outdoor activity amenities associated with that.”

In addition, he said that Mountainlands Community Housing Trust has another project set for Silver Creek Village.

Meanwhile, an in-home day care, called “Heaven’s Little Angels,” is proposed for lower Silver Creek.     That application requires just a low impact permit, which would be approved by Putt.

And Ballet West, which has a dance academy located north of I-80, near Kimball Junction, wants to move farther west down Rasmussen Road to the Summit Center.
