Summit County COVID-19 Transmission Moves Back To High

Summit County Health Department

The level of COVID-19 transmission in Summit County has been raised to the highest level.

Late last week, the Summit County Health Department changed the local transmission level from moderate to high.

The change occurred because Summit County’s 14-day case rate surpassed the necessary threshold. The other factor is Utah’s statewide 7-day ICU usage is considered full.

The new transmission level doesn’t bring any immediate changes to rules county residents have to follow.

Summit County had been in the moderate transmission level since late May. The state recommends physical distancing and wearing masks for people in counties with both high and moderate transmission levels.

Wasatch County is also in the high category.
