Student Council members at Parley's Park elementary school, Ceri and Parker, led the efforts for the school to use compostable silverware at lunch. They wrote a proposal to the principal that included budgets and reasons why it needed to happen. The result has been significant. The entire student council's recycling and composting initiative has reduced waste from 7-8 bags of waste everyday after lunch to 2 bags a day. Way to go kids!
