Mitchell McKee, 59, of Heber, was charged in March 2024 with human trafficking of a child, forcible sexual abuse, forcible sodomy, sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor and dealing in material harmful to a minor.
Half of the 10 counts are first-degree felonies, each of which carries a possible penalty of five years to life in prison.
At his arraignment in 4th District Court Wednesday, May 28, he pleaded not guilty to each of the 10 felony charges.
State prosecutor Ian Ross said he was ready to put a trial on the calendar.
“I think there’s no resolution that’s going to happen in this case,” he said. “I think we need to set it for trial.”
The trial is scheduled for the week of February 9, 2026, in Provo. Attorneys estimate it will take four days.
A judge ruled last month there is probable cause for allegations McKee solicited a teenage boy for sex despite knowing he was underage.
McKee worked in an administrative role in the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office and as a sex therapist in Provo at the time of his arrest.
