Leaving aside the mysterious question of how they feel about Halloween costumes, dogs are encouraged to join the fun this Halloween. But they don't get a parade - or any chocolate.
Halloween on Main has historically drawn large crowds to Main Street for family- and dog-friendly fun, with costumed holiday lovers of all ages strolling and merchants dispensing candy.
This week, City Hall provided new details on the event.
This year, the city will roll out a one-day pilot program allowing dogs on buses to get to and from the event. City staff hopes the extra option will reduce traffic woes in the downtown area Sunday.
As part of the event, Main Street will be closed to traffic and parking from the top of Main down to 9th Street between 2 and 6:30 p.m., and Swede Alley will be one-way, northbound only, during those hours.
Parking is available at the Ecker Hill Park and Ride, Park City High School, and the ski resorts with free transit to and from Old Town. Paid parking is available in the China Bridge garage and elsewhere in Old Town.
