As part of its Book to Film series, Summit County's Kimball Junction Library Branch presents a free screening of "Rebecca", based on the Gothic novel by Daphne du Maurier. The film was the Best Picture Oscar winner for 1940 and Alfred Hitchcock’s first American film.
The film focuses on a vulnerable young woman (Joan Fontaine) who marries a brooding aristocrat ( played by Laurence Olivier), only to find that her husband and his estate, Manderley, are haunted by the memory of his dead first wife, Rebecca.
The film will be shown on Thursday, Nov 14th, 6 p.m, at the Richins Library.
It will also be shown in the Kamas Valley Library's Classic Film program, on Thursday the 21st at 6 p.m.
