The Historic Echo Church invites the community to a free lecture and book signing on Saturday, October 14 at 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Join authors and historians Barbara Jones Brown and Rick Turley as they discuss their new book "Vengence is Mine: the Mountain Meadows Massacre and its Aftermath." The book details the 1857 massacre of a wagon train of more than 100 travelers on their way from Arkansas to California, and the Mormon men who carried out the crime yet attempted to blame the attack on the local Paiute Indians. The authors will discuss the massacre, subsequent investigation, and the fate of the surviving young children, and will reveal previously unknown details. Books will be available for purchase with a book signing by the authors to follow.
