The Summit County Council discussed Wednesday whether to continue with the next step in the Mountain Accord process. They said yes, but in a split 3-2 vote. The Accord has been succeeded by the Central Wasatch Commission made up of four entities in the Salt Lake Valley. Council Members Chris Robinson, Kim Carson, and Glenn Wright voted to continue with $100,000 in funding they had pledged to the Accord. The dissenters, Roger Armstrong and Doug Clyde, asked what the county is getting out of a process that's being run by interests in the Salt Lake Valley. Rick Brough has more.
