Traffic was backed up on Interstate 80 Sunday night following a truck crash with a Utah Highway Patrol vehicle. Three people, including a trooper, were treated or checked for injuries.
The Utah Highway Patrol reported that at about 7:30 pm a trooper was investigating a crash on westbound I-80, about a mile up from Lamb’s Canyon. The trooper’s vehicle was in the left-bound lane.
A truck carrying a trailer was headed in the same direction, and for an unknown reason, rolled over the UHP vehicle.
The truck driver was ejected and taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital. A person involved in the previous crash was inside the UHP vehicle, and had to be extricated, with non-life-threatening injuries.
UHP reported their trooper was taken to a hospital to be checked for injuries.
