Heber Valley Elementary School Closing Friday, February 14

Heber Valley Elementary School

President’s Day weekend is starting early for one Wasatch County School District Elementary School.

Wasatch County School District announced that power was out at Heber Valley Elementary School at the start of school on Thursday. The outage was caused by a mechanical failure in the building. The district announced that absences on Thursday would be excused for students but the school day, including breakfast and lunch, ran as usual as all other utilities were running.

Crews worked throughout the day to restore power, but by Thursday afternoon the district announced the internal repairs were taking longer than expected and the school would be closed on Friday, Valentine’s Day.

The district offered their apologies for any inconvenience to parents and thanked them for understanding and patience as they worked on the electrical issue. The district anticipates the school will be open on Tuesday. Parents are encouraged to reach out to the district office with any questions. 435-654-0280
