Wasatch County District and Juvenile Courts are closed until at least Monday April 6.
On Sunday Fourth District Court Judge Jennifer Brown signed an Order and Notice closing both the Wasatch County District and Juvenile Courts until Monday, April 6 in response to COVID-19 concerns. The notice does clarify that if required for a longer period of time the documents may be updated or modified.
The notice says that the Utah County District and Juvenile Courts are still operating and are able to assist those that need it, the Utah county courts are still holding critical hearings. Contact information can be found here.
Judge Brown said that the order comes in response to an administrative order issued statewide on Saturday. That updated order from Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Matthew Durrant states that all non-essential hearings are to be postponed. Judge Brown said the protocols the court is following to ensure the safety of all courthouse staff and patrons, has resulted in limited judicial and clerical staff presence at the courthouse and has restricted their ability to serve patrons in person at the location.
