Car-Free Sunday this weekend has been canceled, along with the Halloween festivities on Main Street.
The Historic Park City Alliance announced on Thursday the cancellation of this weekend’s Car-Free Sunday on Main Street due to expected bad weather, as well as two Halloween events.
The forecast for Sunday is calling for snow showers and cold temps. The HPCA asked the downtown business community their thoughts on the car-free weekend earlier this week and a majority of businesses were not in favor of closing the street. Main Street will be open to cars all weekend.
The 2020 Halloween on Main and Howl-o-ween dog parade events have also been canceled. The HPCA says the size of the gatherings, together with current COVID-19 transmission levels, create an unsafe environment for trick-or-treaters, businesses, and their employees.
On Halloween day and night, Main Street will remain open to cars.
