Idaho Officials Suspend Search For Missing Park City Resident

Blaine County Sheriff's Office

After a 10-day search, Blaine County Sheriff Search and Rescue suspended the search for Fern Baird after one last major operation on Friday.

The 62-year-old signed into the Prairie Creek Trailhead north of Ketchum, Idaho at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. County Sheriff Search and Rescue members and the sheriff’s office started to look for her the following Thursday after she was reported missing.

In a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, Blaine County Sheriff Steve Harkins said the department has exhausted their resources. But he said they’ll continue to investigate any new leads.

Baird was last seen in photos wearing a grey jacket, black pants and a black fanny pack. She is 5’5” and weighs 115 lbs.

Baird is known in Park City as an active community member who has spent years volunteering at local organizations.

Baird’s family is offering a $25,000 reward for information. If you have any information you can call the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 578-3371.
