Saturday COVID-19 Update: 10 Statewide Deaths, 15 Cases in Summit County, Nine in Wasatch County
The Utah Department of Health reported 10 additional COVID-19 deaths on Saturday.
According to the health department, six of the deaths reported on Saturday occurred before March 1st. All victims were over the age of 45 and none were from either Summit or Wasatch Counties.
The statewide death toll from the disease is now 2,101. To date, 11 people have died of COVID-19 in Summit County, 21 in Wasatch County.
460 new cases were reported statewide on Saturday, bringing the rolling seven-day average of positive tests in Utah to 419, which has been unchanged since Thursday.
The averages for the percent of positive laboratory tests remained steady as well, with the people-over-people average at 7.4% and the tests-over-tests average at 3.7%.
137 people are currently in the hospital with COVID-19 across the state, an increase of four from yesterday. COVID-19 referral center ICUs are now 69.8% full.
Over 27,000 vaccines were administered statewide in the last 24 hours. Just under 1.3 million doses have been administered so far.
