Teenage Snowboarder Dies at Park City Mountain Resort

An 18-year-old snowboarder was killed at Park City Mountain Resort Tuesday after hitting a tree.

According to the Park City Police Department and PCMR, the teenager was snowboarding on a beginner run at the resort on Tuesday before leaving the run and striking a tree.

The victim has been identified as an 18-year-old man from Lexington, Kentucky. Citing privacy reasons, no other information about the victim was provided.

The department says ski patrol administered life-saving measures at the scene of the accident and transported the victim to a location for pickup by Airmed. PCMR confirmed to KPCW the victim was pronounced dead on scene by Airmed.

In a statement shared with KPCW, PCMR COO Mike Goar said the mountain, ski patrol, and entire Vail Resorts family extends their “deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends.”

This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
