Sunday COVID-19 Update: 7-Day Average At 380, No New Deaths


Utah’s 7-day rolling average of daily COVID-19 cases is at 380 per day, the lowest average since mid-August.

The Utah Department of Health announced 248 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, which is nearly 100 fewer cases than the state saw at the same time last week.

In the Wasatch Back, Summit County’s case count was down week over week, the county reported four new cases Sunday. Last week, Summit saw six. 

Wasatch County reported four new cases, which is the same as last Sunday. 

There were 4,112 people tested for the first time statewide, with 7,396 total tests administered. 

On average less than 4% of “tests over tests” are coming back positive, while the average percent positivity for “people over people” is just over 7%.  

Utah’s Department of Health reported no new deaths. To date, 2,164 Utahns have died due to COVID-19, including 11 from Summit County and 21 from Wasatch County.

The department also reported nine new hospitalizations. There are 133 people in the hospital for COVID-19 in the state. 

There were 17,268 people vaccinated for COVID-19 since Saturday, bringing the number to 1,897,531 total doses administered. 

Summit County has administered 39,727 total vaccines and Wasatch has given out 19,915 doses. Both counties are registering to vaccinate residents 16 years or older.
