Rollover Sends Two To The Hospital

Park City Fire District

Westbound Interstate 80 reopened Sunday evening after a nearly two-hour shutdown following a non-fatal car crash near Echo Reservoir.

Two  people were seriously injured in the single vehicle rollover crash Sunday afternoon.

According to the Utah Highway patrol, a pickup truck hauling a trailer lost control and rolled on westbound I-80 near mile marker 166, right next to Echo reservoir.

The two occupants in the vehicle were airlifted to a hospital in serious condition – but UHP says their injuries are not life-threatening.  One of them reportedly lost part of their arm. Both were wearing seat belts.

The Park City Fire Dept. reported that both occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle along with their dog, which is doing well and being taken care of.

I-80 westbound closed about 4:45 p.m. yesterday. One lane was reopened by 6:15. All lanes were reopened by 8 p.m.
