Dakota Pacific returns to Summit County Council

Public comment will not be taken during the council’s discussion, according to Deputy County Manager Janna Young.

Dakota Pacific is scheduled on the council’s agenda at 4 p.m. for a two-hour time block. The council will be meeting live at the Richins Services Building and also electronically.

The staff report says the proposed development is also designated as the Park City Junction project. The council last talked about the project on August 11th, and since then the staff and the applicant have met to discuss key points and conditions for a revised Development Agreement.

The council is being asked to discuss a timeline to move the project toward additional work sessions and a public hearing. County Development Director Pat Putt said a public hearing has been tentatively set for November 17th.

The project is proposed for a maximum of over 1.7 million gross square feet, including 236,000 square feet of commercial and office use; and 1100 residential units.

The council is being asked to discuss a plan to build the development in three phases. Phase One would be a medical office building of over 85,000 square feet.

The council is being asked to discuss, in the next two stages, how the project will phase in the commercial construction, the market rate housing, and workforce housing as a percentage of the market rate units.

The council will also consider phasing in traffic control measures, agreed to by the applicant, that will mitigate the impacts of the Dakota project and will generally improve the traffic flow at Kimball Junction.
