Heat tape causes fire at lower Deer Valley home

Park City Fire District

The Park City Fire District responded to a fire caused by electrical arcing in the heat tape at a home on Seasons Dr. in Park City around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Damage to the home was confined to the rain gutter.

Park City Fire District Marshal Mike Owens told KPCW that homeowners should find a qualified electrician to inspect heat tape to make sure it is safe.

No injuries were reported.
