The swap at the Utah Film Studios will open Saturday at 8 a.m. Team manager and head coach Pete Stoughton said more than 600 items have been donated.
“We have more bikes than we've ever had before,” he said. “We've actually, I started texting some friends in the community to get some more what we call A-frame bike racks to hold bikes, because we've pretty much filled up all of our racks.”
Stoughton said donations of all types of bikes and bike-related items are being accepted from 4 to 7 Friday night.
“We've got about 15 e-bikes there right now,” he said. “We've got tons of road bikes, tons of mountain bikes. All the different sizes, kids sizes, adult sizes, and then all the paraphernalia and equipment that goes accordingly; helmets, jerseys and so forth.”
The bike swap runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stoughton said 20% of each sale goes toward the bike team. That includes the cost to run the bike swap and scholarships for the riders.
