COVID-19 Testing Increased In Wasatch Back

CDC

Drive through testing is now available for those without a physician’s order in Park City.

In a Wednesday afternoon release Intermountain Healthcare announced that in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Summit County, they are now offering outdoor drive-thru testing for COVID-19 at the Park City Ice Arena, located at 600 Gilmore Way, near the Intermountain Park City Hospital campus at Quinn’s Junction.

People receiving the tests will remain in their cars as a caregiver does an assessment of their symptoms. If they determine a test is needed, the test is done with a nose swab.

Testing will be available without a physician’s order with hours from Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00.

The set-up comes in conjunction with an increased availability of tests in the state. Utah Department of Health Epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn stated Tuesday the state now has the capacity to administer 2,600 tests per day, with that number likely to grow over the upcoming weeks.

Two other Intermountain locations in the Wasatch Back are also providing curbside COVID-19 testing, but both require a physician’s order beforehand. The Park City InstaCare at 1750 Sidewinder Drive. and the Heber Valley InstaCare at 1485 South Hwy 40 in Heber. Both offer testing daily from 9:00 to 5:00.

It’s recommended that people call the Intermountain COVID-19 hotline at 844-442-5224 before coming to an InstaCare if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
