Ginger Wicks Tapped As New HPCA Executive Director

Park City Chamber/Bureau

The HPCA has named Ginger Wicks as the next HPCA Executive Director.  She will go on to replace current director Alison Kuhlow on July 1st.

Ginger Wicks is a familiar face to many on Main Street and beyond. She has led the Park City Area Lodging Association as well as the Park City Area Restaurant Association. She will continue to do both as she takes on the third part time job with the Historic Park City Alliance.

“My experience with the Restaurant Association and the Lodging Association, sometimes you've got busy times and sometimes you've got slow times but at the end of the day it all averages out,” Wicks explained. “With the other organizations I represent and work with, I've created some great systems that will translate to the HPCA and of course, Allison. I'm working with her in the transition period through the month of June and she obviously is amazing and has some really great systems that I'll be learning, and maybe can implement with the other associations--so I think there's going to be some great crossover.”

President of the HPCA Rhonda Sideris said in a prepared statement, they couldn’t have asked for a better pick for the position.

Wicks’ background and existing relationships with businesses gave her a huge advantage over the other candidates for the position. Even though she’ll be working with three separate member organizations, she doesn’t see any conflicts between the three.

“Well, I did talk to the Restaurant Association board obviously before I applied as well as the Lodging Association Board President before I applied,” Wicks said, “and all of them felt like it could be, again, create some great opportunities and bring all the associations together a little bit more. As an executive director in any of those positions. I don't make the decisions-  I implement and act on the decision by the board. So, keeping that in mind, there aren't any conflicts.”

Wicks will join the HPCA on June 1st  which will allow her and Kuhlow to work together for a month before Kuhlow's departure at the end of June.
