Utah Governor Gary Herbert implemented additional orders in response to COVID-19 Tuesday evening. Those orders include limiting gathering of people to no more than 10 and implementing strict guidelines for food service entities.
In a press release sent out Tuesday evening Utah Governor Gary Herbert sent out additional orders including an order to restrict the gathering of residents to no more than 10 people, in accordance with federal suggestions.
Additionally, restaurants and other food service entities are ordered to shut down in-facility dining starting at Midnight on Wednesday. Those businesses can provide curbside, drive through delivery and pick-up. The governor’s order supersedes Monday’s recommendations from Wasatch County. Summit County had already implemented this order.
Additionally the order says individuals should not visit nursing or long-term care facilities, except to provide critical care. Individuals over 60, or those who are immunocompromised, should avoid contact with others.
Additionally in homes where someone tests positive for COVID-19, everyone in that household should self isolate to slow the spread of the virus.
Governor Herbert also encouraged people to use technology, to check in on neighbors, family members and to help those who are self isolating.
