How to Become a Nonprofit Hour Host

BECOME A NONPROFIT HOUR HOST

Our community relies on KPCW daily, and we rely on our nonprofit businesses twice a year during our pledge drives.

KPCW's pledge drives are unique in that they benefit all who participate. It's an ideal oppurtunity to connect with our community, spread the message of your work and show how invested you are in our community through your support of KPCW. We couldn't have a successful drive without the participation of nonprofit leaders throughout the community.

Our pledge drives are engaging.  While listeners across the country tend to tune out and turn off fund drives, our listeners turn on and tune in!  Listeners tune in to KPCW beginning at 7am on Monday, March 2nd to enjoy our crazy on-air antics, find out about the outstanding premium items offered as thank you gifts and to hear from area nonprofits who support KPCW with a Host Hour sponsorship.  Join us for some fun and help rally community support by encouraging your friends, supporters and listeners to call a pledge into KPCW.

Nonprofit Hour Competition:

KPCW will be providing FREE underwriting to the nonprofit hosts who generates the most donations for KPCW as well as the most calls!  Contact Sarah Ervin for full details.  We're talking over $10,000 dollars in free underwriting to our local nonprofits!

How KPCW Does It:

Join us for an hour of our regular programming and during our fundraising breaks, talk about how your nonprofit supports our community, your upcoming events and how you support KPCW.  KPCW will send you a customized e-blast created with your name, logo and on-air time to forward to your outreach list.  We encourage you to share your "Nonprofit Host Hour" on social media and encourage supporters to boost the donations during your hour.  Friendly competitions can increase your FUN-draising.  We also help with on-air promotion before and during the pledge drive announcing your Nonprofit Host Hour, and we post your organization's name and hour on our KPCW Pledge Drive website.

What Your Role as a Nonprofit Host Entails:

We kindly request a financial contribution to KPCW to cover the on-air cost of your "Nonprofit Host Hour."  Many Nonprofits work with a for-profit partner to donate the cost of the hour, and we will work with you to find Pledge Partner if you do not already have one in mind.  Contact Sarah Ervin for details.  We also encourage you to share the Pledge Drive e-blast with your supporters, vendors, staff, friends, family - whoever benefits from your nonprofit or KPCW or both!  Share your "Nonprofit Host Hour" details on your social media sites and encourage your followers to donate and to share with their contacts.  Talk about the important work your nonprofit does and how you support public radio and KPCW's programs on the air during your Host Hour.  Generate a "special" pledge premium or auction item to excite listeners (Please note: all donated ITEMS must be provided in advance of The Pledge Drive - NO LATER than February 21st, 2020).
