The Arts Festival runs this weekend from August 6th to 8th, and while it will be a little smaller than previous years - and no beer garden - organizers said it's got plenty to offer.

As a COVID-19 precaution, they’ve reduced invited artists by 10%, reduced the number of food and drink vendors, and eliminated the beer garden at Miners Park.
Normally the festival hosts 225 artists.This year, that's down to 192. Fewer booths and presenters allows for more social distancing and should make the event more spacious and comfortable for those who attend, they said.
August 6th is Friday Night Locals Night. That means Summit County residents enter for free, although pre-registration is required to verify ZIP codes and reduce lines at entry.
Besides lots of art, the festival offers live music and food. Interactive art exhibits will offer people the chance to not just admire art but produce some original work as well. Marie Watt’s large-scale weaving project is a work in progress that anyone can add to and help create a community tapestry.
And the arts center’s inaugural artist-in-residence, Jorge Rojas, will lead sculpture sessions that allow anyone who wants to create one of his ‘People of Corn’ - miniature figures that celebrate the spiritual significance of corn in cultures throughout the Americas.
Day tickets have been reduced from $12 to $10, and discounted ticket packages are for sale until tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
